First of all thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague for our final round of CCS Star Awards for 2023, we had a total of 10 nominations, with some people receiving two nominations.
It’s great to see so many of you recognising others who are living and breathing our Culture Essentials. It was a tough decision to make but as we announced at the recent town hall, our winners are:
Nancy Michalopoulou, Project Engineer for Improve

“Nancy is the nicest person to work with, professionally and just as a person… she is so efficient and good at work but she’s also such a sweet, kind person. She works so hard at her job and improving her project, she is an amazing communicator and always gives kind feedback. She is always trying to improve ways of working.”
“Nancy is a DREAM to work with! She is so kind and respectful and so hard working. She is such a friendly and calm person to be around and makes you feel so peaceful and appreciated. She also displays kindness by being so humble and always expressing her gratitude and thanks when working with others. She has made the whole plan approval process for Hull-6310 so smooth and works really hard to continuously improve and make things more efficient, she is willing to hear suggestions and consider better ways of working. I love working with Nancy and would love to see her hard work and kindness recognised!”
Andrew MacDonald, Engineer, Safety & Nautical for Communicate:

“Andrew has supported our projects in China brilliantly. He has communicated effectively with the various stakeholders, including the yard, a new operating line, class, JVPC, and our CCS colleagues. Andrew always acts in line with all our cultural essentials. He is a great ambassador for CCS technical on this project! Well done Andrew!”
“Always takes ownership of a task / issues and ensures it gets completed even if it is not specifically related to his discipline. This takes communication and coordination between multiple teams and the shipyards and helps reduce the workload on other teams.”
