We are delighted to announce the winners of the World of Cunard competition!
To celebrate the launch of our Centenary World Voyages on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria earlier this year, we asked colleagues ship and shore, to let us know what the World of Cunard meant to them for the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
Drumroll please…
Huge congratulations to our overall winner, Justine Bactol, Hotel Assistant, Housekeeping on board Queen Elizabeth, who has won £500. From over 50 entries from across ship and shore (including videos, photos and written word) Justine’s brilliant video was selected as our overall winning entry by Cunard’s senior leadership team.
Justine’s video about his World of Cunard shows how pride in your job and the opportunity to visit amazing destinations make for a rewarding and exciting career! He captured his day-to-day duties, along with his visits to places like Sydney, Singapore, Japan and Alaska.

And the runners up are…
Congratulations to our three runners up; Steve Angel, Deployment Manager, Carnival UK, Lynn D’Mello, Receptionist Queen Elizabeth and Howard Herdi, Deck Housekeeper Queen Elizabeth, who have won £300 each!
Steve was inspired by his role planning the itineraries and iconic world voyages for each ship and summed-up the World of Cunard in a fantastic poem about the four Queens sailing to many different destinations.
Lynn, who loves photography, captured the World of Cunard in a photograph taken on board Queen Mary 2. The reflection of a sunset and the illuminated Queen Mary 2 sign in a glass pane on deck 12 showed a creative World of Cunard. Lynn was noted for his creativity and his distinct style.
Howard is also a keen photographer and his entry was inspired by his friends, colleagues and the natural beauty of Alaska. Howard’s tug of war photo reflects the fun that the World of Cunard offers to our Guests and our colleagues. His keen eye beautifully captured people that are part of his World of Cunard!
With our overall winner and two of our runners up all on board Queen Elizabeth, a total of £1,800 has also been added to their crew welfare fund for everyone to enjoy! The prestigious We are Cunard trophy will be engraved with Queen Elizabeth’s name and will once again be taking pride of place on board – a testament to the effort and quality of entries sent in by our Queen Elizabeth colleagues!
