We’re delighted to announce that, thanks to your impressive fundraising efforts, we’ve raised an incredible £15,000 for Monty’s Community Hub. This is a staggering amount of money considering we’ve been in partnership for less than twelve months, and it will make a big difference to the local community.
Making a difference
Thanks to your hard work, £15,000 will support Monty’s to continue their valuable services for vulnerable people in the local area, through projects such as their community pantry, building services and bike hub. Here’s a tiny selection of some of their recent endeavours:
Monty’s Majors meet every week, tackling isolation and loneliness by bringing older neighbours together for community, connection (and cake!)
Monty’s inclusive choir invites local people to express themselves through music, no matter their ability, age, background or circumstances.
Every week, Monty’s run a free SEN Cafe for parents and carers of children with additional needs.
Thursdays are Community Lunch day, where fabulous volunteers cook up a hot, fresh ‘pay-as-you-feel’ meal, ensuring the local community have access to affordable meals.
Handy fixers at Monty’s repair cafe help give local people their items a new lease of life (and stopping them from going to landfill!)
Monty’s Bike Hub continue to do lots of school engagement. From fixing bikes, through to teaching bike mechanic skills to help young people get back into education.
Monty’s love putting on family events for the whole community to join in with. Their Coronation Party was a huge success, with affordable fete games, coronation themed crafts and delicious refreshments.
Every Friday, Monty’s run their Friday Finance and Fry Up sessions, a friendly, get together over a free fry up to support each other with money and finances.
Our one-year partnership with Monty’s will come to a close at the end of June, so we want to challenge ourselves to fundraise as much as we can for this incredible local charity. We’ll share more in the coming weeks about how we’ll be supporting worthy charitable causes over the next year and beyond!

“We’ve been thinking about a charity day for a while, so we’re walking 12 miles, following the Itchen river from Riverside Park to Winchester. We recently merged with another team which has doubled our numbers (now 32 strong!). We thought it was the perfect opportunity to be outside (now it’s officially the summer) getting to know one another while raising some money for our CUK charity.
