Between 17:00 on Sunday 14 July and 05:00 on Monday 15 July BST there will be a planned power outage in Carnival House to upgrade a number of electrical systems within the building.
This will ensure we have the tools in place to reduce the possibility of any future unplanned power outages (such as the external electrical surge that impacted us last September).
Here’s what you need to know:
- Carnival House will be closed during the outage at 17:00 14 July – 05:00 15 July BST for Health & Safety reasons.
- All online systems for ship and shore will be unavailable during this time including:
– The Carnival UK Network or any other system
– VPN
– Email (including mobile phone access)
– Websites (Guest’s can browse but not book – excluding Princess)
- Our Fleet have been advised of the planned power outage and the steps they need to take. Specific ship information for those on turn-around will be communicated separately.
- Our colleagues in CSSI Mumbai will be receiving site specific information.
- The Contact Centre closes as usual at 16:00 on Sunday 14 July – team leaders will be briefing their teams on any changes to the usual working practices.
Here’s what you need to do:
- If you have a desktop computer make sure you save all work and turn it off along with any other equipment before you leave the office on Friday 12 July (or your last working day before 12 July).
- If you have a laptop or any other device i.e. Surface Pro, Tablet etc. make sure you save any work and take them home with you on Friday 12 July (or your last working day before 12 July).
- If you’re scheduled to work on Sunday 14 July you will need to leave the building by 17:00 at the latest.
- If your car is parked in the Carnival House Undercroft car park on Sunday 14 July you will need to move it by 17:30. Any cars still in the car park after this time will be locked in until Monday morning as the systems for access will be down.
- If you’re working from home on Sunday 14 July you will need to make sure you have saved your work and shut down by 16:00 as the VPN will be closing at this time.
On Monday 15 July:
- If you’re scheduled to work, please make your way into the office as usual unless notified otherwise.
- Carnival House will be open as normal – please be aware that some systems may not be fully functional.
Any issues on Monday 15 July:
- Our Planned Power Outage Team will be on site throughout the entire power down process.
- If there is any unforeseen reason for a delay with the power being restored the Business Continuity Process will be triggered and you will be notified accordingly.
- If some system works are still going on when you arrive there will be message boards in reception notifying of any potential issues.
If you have any questions regarding the planned power outage please contact the Business Continuity Team (Business.continuity@Carnivalukgroup.com).
