A new way of conducting appraisals is coming later this year. Instead of using Microsoft forms, appraisals will move to Mistral, our Crew Management system.
What’s happening now?
At the moment, ship and shore teams are working together on this. They’re also learning from colleagues in our sister brands who already use Mistral online appraisals.
Right now, the team are:
- Creating a process that’s simple, clear and fair
- Listening to feedback from colleagues at sea and ashore
- Making sure everything works properly before anything goes live
This early work helps us understand:
- What works well today
- What could be improved
- How a new system and approach can support better appraisal conversations
When the new appraisals process is introduced, you can expect:
- A more consistent experience, even if you move ships, roles or brands
- Appraisals to be completed and stored online in Mistral
- Clearer responsibilities for everyone involved
- More support for regular feedback, not just at the end of a contract
The aim is to make appraisals simpler, fairer and clearer, and to better support development and improvement plans.
What’s staying the same?
Appraisals will still be a conversation with your line manager.
