On a bright and peaceful day in Kusadasi, a group of crew members stepped away from the bustle of ship life, on Arcadia, to experience one of Turkey’s most sacred and serene landmarks – the House of the Virgin Mary.Nestled in the hills near the ancient city of Ephesus, the site is believed to be where the Virgin Mary spent her final years. Led by the Welfare Officer, the tour gave crew the chance to explore the historic stone house, light candles, and take a quiet moment for reflection in the tranquil surroundings.
Surrounded by lush greenery and a sense of calm, the visit offered a meaningful pause – an opportunity to reconnect with peace, faith and history. It was a truly memorable experience and a reminder of the value of taking time to reflect, recharge and explore the world beyond the ship.
