Today is Pakistan Independence Day! Celebrated every year on 14 August, it marks the country’s independence from British rule in 1947.

This day holds immense significance for Pakistanis worldwide, including the 140 crew we have sailing onboard our ships, and symbolises the culmination of a long struggle for freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of a homeland for Muslims to freely practice their religion and preserve their cultural identity in South Asia.

Celebrations will include flag-raising ceremonies, patriotic parades, cultural performances, and fireworks. People will also wear green and white, the colours of the national flag, and reflect on the country’s journey toward sovereignty.

Pakistan Independence Day is more than just a national holiday; it is a celebration of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of a nation striving for progress and prosperity. So for all those celebrating today, Jashn-e-Azaadi Mubarak or Happy Independence Day!
