International Nurses Day is a day celebrated on 12 May each year – the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Recognised since 1965 the day aims to highlight the critical role nursing plays in healthcare.
To mark the occasion, and celebrate the invaluable contributions of the our ships nursing teams, Arvia recently hosted a day of events. Starting with a surprise breakfast in the medical centre and ending with each nurse receiving a wellness gift bag as a token of appreciation.
Nursing at sea requires clinical expertise and adaptability. Our ships nurses are responsible for a wide range of duties from acting as first point of contact to emergency responders.
Thank you to all our Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who help keep guests and crew safe and well at sea.
