During their recent calls to Manila in the Philippines, Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth both held ‘family and friends’ events, giving crew the chance to catch up with their loved ones for the day!

We heard from Francesca Hitchman, HR Manager, Queen Anne, and Franki Hart, Welfare Officer, Queen Elizabeth, who also shared some fantastic photos from the events:

Queen Anne

“On Sunday 16 March, as part of her first world voyage, Queen Anne made her maiden call into Manila.

Approximately 60% of our crew are Filipino, making it our largest represented nationality on board. There was much cause for celebration as crew were reunited with their families for the day!

Singa, our Global Talent Partner, also came along and helped to support the crew office HR team and our Assistant Crew Manager, Erwin Ampog, in setting up a special family and friends event on the quayside, with music and food.

Queen Elizabeth

Following careful planning by our Global Talent Partner, Singa, supported by Welfare Officer Franki Hart and HR Manager Helen Gough, Queen Elizabeth’s family and friends day in Manila was a great success – with over 700 people in attendance!

The dedication from the families traveling long distances to see their loved ones was truly touching, with some reporting a seven hour journey to get there!

Family reunions are always special, and our crew and their families enjoyed some popular Filipino dishes: Jollibee, Lechon, and dirty ice cream, which made the experience even more memorable.

Moments like these captured below, have a lasting impact on everyone involved. Memories made that will be cherished for a lifetime.
