I miss the Porridge Club, by Karine Tomlin
Working from home has its benefits:
- I hardly use my car anymore so I’m being kinder to the environment;
- This in turn has encouraged me to go food shopping by foot (minimum 3 times a week, as they is a limit to what I can carry);
- I don’t have to rush home at the end of the day to pick up the kids from school;
- I get to spend more time with the kids (although whether this is a benefit can be debated);
- And so on…
But of course, working from home has its downsides:
- I miss the interaction with human beings (no offence to my husband and kids);
- Not having a proper office at home, I’m sharing the dining table with my husband who is also working from home and the kids when they are eating. It is not ideal;
- Having to share our home internet with the kids’ constant watching mindless YouTube videos is challenging;
- And so on…
But the one thing I miss the most being not being in the office is…
A decent bowl of porridge (how sad is that)!
As you can see on the photo, whilst I knew I hadn’t mastered the art of home porridge, today’s my reminder: Never Ever take your eyes off your porridge
What do you miss most about being in the office?
