Welcome to the P&O Cruises and Cunard Training Compliance support page. For you to help us create unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests. Our Culture Essentials are helping us to focus on the way we go about things; how we behave and interact with each other, not just the tasks we set out to achieve. During your induction you will learn more about our Culture Essentials and how they support you to be the best you can!

We’re responsible for…

  • The planning of pre-joining fleet training to ensure all fleet colleagues are suitably qualified and experienced for their roles onboard.
  • Ensuring all training compliance queries are resolved in a professional, knowledgeable and timely manner.
  • Guiding you to being Training Compliant for getting onboard our ships.

Do I need to contact the CUK Training Compliance team?

Yes, once you’ve received your training plan please contact the CUK Training Compliance team to schedule and book your required training.

I’ve completed some of the training courses on my plan, how do I get my training records updated?

If you would like to update your training records please email the CUK Training Compliance team ensuring the subject of your email includes your staff number, name, rank and is titled ‘ 2026 Training Statement Query’

How do I book the training I need to attend?

For home country STCW / Certificate of Comptency (CoC) renewals, you will need to find a suitable course prior to your embarkation. For other training courses that are organised by the CUK Training Compliance Team, please work with your training compliance planner to find a suitable date. If you are unsure if it’s required to take place within your home country or not, please email us and we can advise you on this.

Do I need to complete all the training on my plan?

Yes, the plan is made up of your mandatory onboarding pre-join training requirements plus your CSMART attendance. If you are having trouble booking your home country training please contact us, otherwise we will contact you over the coming months.

When do I need to attend the training listed?

Please refer to the Fleet Training Matrix to confirm what training needs to be completed prior to your embarkation. For CSMART training, we will reach out to you to get this booked in.

Can I combine courses to reduce travel or time away from home?

This is possible but please work with your CUK Training Compliance planner when discussing your training plan to see if this could work for you.

Will the required training affect my next contract or joining date?

No, your CUK Training Compliance planner will work with you to ensure training is completed in the appropriate rest period to avoid impacting your planned rotations.

Will I receive a new statement if my future plans change including promotion?

No however, if your pre-join training requirements change we will reach out to you.

I think I’m booked on training I no longer need to attend, what do I do?

Please contact the CUK Training Compliance team to make us aware of this.

How will you communicate to me if my training requirements change?

Your pre-join training compliance requirements are subject to change but your CUK Training Compliance planner will contact you in the event of any changes.

Why haven’t I received a training plan?

Only annualised Maritime Officers have been issued with a training plan. If you fall into this category and haven’t received a plan this will be because you don’t have any current pre-join training requirements for 2026 or have joined the company after the 1st November 2025. In the event your training requirements change, we will be in contact with you.

Why do I have CSMART Training on my training plan?

You have CSMART on your plan because we would like you to attend in 2026. We are working with the Maritime Careers team to find you the most suitable course for your development.

I have other questions about attending training.

Please refer to the links below.
