Good news! We’re going to be making a significant cost saving by moving our phone provider from EE to Vodafone! This means we need everyone with a company mobile phone number to swap their SIM card.

If you have a company mobile phone number there are some actions you’ll need to take…

  • In order to move over to Vodafone, every person with a company mobile phone will need to come and collect a new SIM card on Monday 21 October from The Atrium.  Please come down to The Atrium between  8 am – 6 pm to collect your new Vodafone SIM card.  There will be 5 stations to collect SIM cards from.  Each station will be labelled alphabetically by your first name.
  • Make sure you back up your contacts before swapping your SIM card over.
  • Your number will be transferred to Vodafone between 22-31 October.
  • If you’re not in Carnival House on 21 October to collect your new SIM card please contact CUKMobilePhones@carnivalukgroup.com now with your name and company mobile phone number, so that they can make alternative arrangements for you.
  • If you have a MiFi unit or iPad that uses a company SIM card please contact CUKMobilePhones@carnivalukgroup.com so we can arrange next steps with you.
  • An email will be sent to you from CUKMobilePhones@carnivalukgroup.com advising you of the date your phone number is scheduled to transfer to Vodafone.

Actions for Line Managers

If a member of your team, who has a company mobile phone, is absent and won’t be in Carnival House w/c 21 October please contact CUKMobilePhones@carnivalukgroup.com now with their name and company mobile phone number, so that we can make alternative arrangements for them. (This includes any colleagues who may be on any type of leave, such as holiday, maternity or long term absence.)

Ok, so I’ve collected my new Vodafone SIM card, what do I do next?

  • Once you’ve collected your new Vodafone SIM card, please keep this safe. (It should sit quite nicely in your wallet or purse until you need it…)
  • 24 hours before your new SIM card is activated, you will receive a text message, informing you of the date your new card will be activated.
  • Back up your contacts from your company mobile phone (see FAQ’s attached for how to do this.)
  • On the day your new SIM card is activated, you will receive a reminder text. As soon as the EE service on your phone stops working, this is your prompt to take your old EE SIM card out of your company mobile phone and replace it with your new Vodafone SIM card.
  • Switch your phone off and on again.
  • You will then receive a final text to inform you that your phone is now activated.

Things to be aware of:

  • It is important that you DO NOT swap your old EE SIM card over with your new Vodafone SIM card until the date you have been asked to do so. This is because we have to assign a port date (date of moving) to each individuals company mobile phone number.
  • Your new SIM card will only start to work on the date assigned to you.
  • Your new Vodafone SIM card should start working within 15 minutes of swapping it over.  (Providing you swap the SIM card over on the date assigned to you and once you notice EE service has been lost on your phone.)
