Yesterday Buckingham Palace announced the death of Her Majesty The Queen. Carnival UK and colleagues both ashore and at sea extend sincere condolences to The Royal Family.
Her Majesty will forever be remembered at Carnival UK as her association with our brands dates back to 1938 when she accompanied her mother to the launch of Queen Elizabeth.
Since then The Queen launched six Carnival UK ships; Caronia in 1947, QE2 in 1967, Oriana in 1995, Queen Mary 2 in 2004, Queen Elizabeth in 2010 and Britannia in 2015. Her Majesty also attended many events on board over the years including P&O Cruises 150th Anniversary celebrations on the Thames in 1987 and Cunard’s 150th Anniversary celebrations in 1990.
