We’ve all had a training email reminder and thought “I must do that later”. With busy workloads and pressures, compliance training can often seem like just one more thing to do or maybe even a drain on time. In fact, it’s anything but!
Instead, compliance training:
- Educates us on applicable laws and regulations
- Informs us of company policy
- Empowers us to make good decisions and do the right thing
- Minimises risk
- Helps the company to maintain our reputation
- Equips us with the necessary knowledge to do our jobs well
As a global business we’re required to comply with many laws and regulations all over the world, so it’s vital that we make sure our training is up to date to respect and protect ourselves and the organisation.
We know that the challenges of COVID-19 and return to service have meant that many of us are very busy, so you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve been working with other Carnival Corporation brands to streamline our compliance training courses to make them more informative, more relevant and more time efficient. This empowers us all with the knowledge about what’s right and helps us to Speak Up when we spot when something that isn’t as it should be.
Two of the main courses we’ve been working on are Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering. Given the ongoing Russia / Ukraine situation, we’ve extended Sanctions training to more roles to make sure we’re all aware of what’s expected, and a new Anti-Money Laundering course has just been launched. GLADIS won’t tell you if you’ve been allocated either of these, so please make sure to log in and check whether you need to complete them.
Most courses need to be completed on an annual basis, but if you’re ever unsure about something or would like to refresh your knowledge, you can repeat the course as many times as you like.
