There are a number of important documents you need in order to join your ship. Please read this page carefully to understand what you need to bring and please get in touch with your Global Talent Partner, or your onboarding team if you have any questions.
You are responsible for ensuring all documentation is correct and valid for the entire length of your contract. If you don’t hold the correct documentation, you may be denied boarding.
Important documents to bring with you
When you embark, you’ll need to present a number of original documents, certificates and training records. This includes documentation such as:
- Valid DBS certificates for all safeguarding ranks (All Youth, all Medical, Deputy Captain and Security Officer positions)
- Certificates of Competency for Deck, Engine and ETO personnel
- All other training certification in their original format. (eg STCW 2010)

We won’t accept photocopies, so don’t forget to bring the the originals with you.
Your passport
Your passport must be valid for the entire length of your contract plus 6 months. It must not exceed 10 years validity and there must be at least one blank page for a visa and/or stamp.
If your passport doesn’t have at least six months validity after the end of your contract, please notify us immediately by emailing your relevant Onboarding Team.
