We…
- Are the principle ship-facing, cross-departmental leadership element of Carnival UK.
- Sit in-between Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Ships Management Teams (SMT) to:
– turn Operating Line and Corporate strategic intent into operational / tactical level activity;
– take appropriate cross-departmental operational action for complex risks and issues which require escalation/delegation to the FLT; and
– act as a communications conduit to ensure centrally driven operational decisions, issues and risks are understood and onboard feedback is responded to. - Are a cross functional governance forum to monitor and manage flow of initiatives rolled out to the fleet, taking impact on support and operational teams and employees into account and ensuring appropriate Management of Change principles are adopted (including compliance with HMP 1600 where applicable).
- Provide guidance, leadership and direction to the SMT in order to drive performance.
If you’re ever unsure whether something should be directed to FLT please contact the member from your business area.
*Immediate operational challenges should be directed through ORCA
Engaging with us
If you’re unsure on whether something is a matter for FLT please make sure you reach out to the relevant FLT member for your area as detailed on the previous slide.
Communications
It’s important that we try to reduce the amount of noise ships receive so that they can focus on providing unforgettable holiday happiness to our guests.
Written communications for multiple ships/ departments should be sent to Internal Comms so they can be collated and sent through our SMT & Ops Dashboard which every Tuesday. The deadline for content is the Friday before.
We also hold regular calls with the SMT every quarter.
