We’re excited to announce the rest of the line-up for our special livestreamed naming ceremony for Iona…

Gary Barlow

Gary Barlow will treat us to a one-off private live set. One of the most iconic singer/songwriters of his generation, Gary is Music Director of The 710 Club on board Iona and we can’t wait to hear him light up the evening with his performance at her naming ceremony.

Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir

The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir brings together communities across the Commonwealth through music. Their live performance on the night promises to be special!

Jo Whiley

The inimitable Jo Whiley will draw on her vast broadcasting experience to present the whole event. Who better to introduce all of our special guests?

P&O Cruises Food Heroes

Look out for appearances from some of our Food Heroes, including Marco Pierre White, Olly Smith and Eric Lanlard, as well as Local Food Heroes José Pizarro and Kjartan Skjelde.

Dame Irene Hays

Iona’s godmother, Dame Irene Hays, will officially name our greenest, most innovative ship. Be ready for the exciting moment when she smashes a bottle of Alex James’ Britpop cider on Iona’s bow.

Aerial footage of Iona’s first sailing home to Southampton and a few words from our very own P&O Cruises president, Paul Ludlow!

How to watch Iona’s naming ceremony

If you’re one of our shoreside people please make sure you RSVP to the invite you received from Paul Ludlow on Tuesday 27 April. If you didn’t receive the email, or need the link again, please let us know at internal.comms@carnivalukgroup.com. For those of you who’ve already signed up, you’ll receive further instructions on how to join the event on 14 May.

For our colleagues on board we’re looking in to what can be achieved in streaming the ceremony on ships.

We can’t wait to share this special occasion with you on 16 May!
