Our 2020 Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) video starring Simon Palethorpe, Paul Ludlow, and a few other familiar faces from ship and shore, is now live.

In this video we refer to ‘Operations Oceans Alive’, an environmental compliance and commitment programme launched two years ago. Operation Oceans Alive is a call to action for every one of us to care for and protect our oceans, seas and waterways from environmental harm, ensuring ecosystems, plant life and aquatic animals thrive, both now and in the future.

We need everyone, both ship and shore to watch this video, so please click the play button below.

Here’s a reminder of the key points:

  • Despite changes in how we live, work, and interact with one another, one thing has not, and will not change – our commitment to compliance, environmental protection, and to the health, safety and security of you and our Guests.
  • As part of our ECP, we’ll provide you with more focused training on environmental compliance, including following our policies and procedures. If you’d like to learn more, a copy of the ECP can be found in the policy section of our Global HESS under POL-1010.
  • We’ve adopted new technical requirements and better technology that enhance our operations and we work to make sure our processes and systems reflect our strong environmental commitments, as well as meeting legal requirements.
  • If you see something that doesn’t look right, you must report it – talk to your supervisor, your Environmental Officer or Shore-side Compliance team, or make a report by calling or going online to the Compliance Hotline. Your report can be anonymous, and retaliation will not be tolerated.
  • As we begin to come back we’ve been focusing even more on strengthening our culture of ethics and compliance. Health and Safety remain top of mind, as the world rallies to recover from COVID-19. Together, we are working toward a brighter future.
